Painting with Light
'Painting' with light is a popular experimental technique which involves the use of a 'time' exposure (shutter speeds of more than a second) in subdued lighting, and using a torch or similar light source to 'paint' lines and shapes with light. We worked in the centre's drama studio and whilst we were not able to completely black out the room, we were able to make exposures of around 20secs. With the camera on a tripod we moved around with our torches and strings of led lights to crete the pictures below.
